Andrean and New Haven battled for the 3A Semistate Championship in Covaleski Stadium, a landmark in downtown South Bend.	Andrean fans young and old made the trip to South Bend to see if the Niners could reach the state finals.

Doolin swings away as his teammates watch. Andrean is going for a second consecutive state championship.	Mark Pishkur (3) hands a list of Andrean's base running plays to Vince Tornincasa (4) for delivery to third base coach Dave Pishkur. The Niners have so many base-running 'codes' that even the coach needs help to recall them.

Pitching coach Jim Nohos, who returned to the 59erd this season after three years at Hanover Central, has helped rebuild the Niner pitching staff.	Second baseman Mark Pishkur gets ready to throw out the final New Haven batter as the Niners win again. Pishkur threw out the final batter in the 9-2 regional title win over Western on June 5.
