The CP bench watches Josh Negele bat in the title game. Negele's three-run homer won the semifinal 3-1 over Western. Jeff Limbaugh rounds third base after his 10th home run of the season. Limbaugh finished the 30-game regular season with 12 home runs.
Starting pitcher Brian Holloway fields a bunt and throws out a runner in the fourth inning.  (All photos by Mark Smith) CP's Jose Andrade (23) went 2 for 3 with a walk in the designated hitter role against Benton Central.
Nate Haase (10) rounds third base to score on a hit by Joey Hopman in the fifth. Catcher Colin Casey stops BC baserunner Pat Lester at home plate and starts a rundown. Lester was tagged out, leaving BC with just a 9-8 lead.
Left-handed pitcher Ronnie Plesac made his varsity debut pitching the final two innings and getting his first win.  (All photos by Mark Smith) Brett Bayer swings the weighted bat in the on-deck circle at Benton Central. Bayer had a good day with the bat, collecting four hits in eight at-bats,
Mike Manion races for the plate as pitcher Devin Freeland waits for the throw in the 7th inning of the championship game.  Manion scored, breaking a 9-9 tie. The CP squad poses in the setting sun after winning the Benton Central Invitational with a come-from-behind 11-9 win over the hosts.
