(10-14-2011) In the final regular
season game of the season, the Crown Point Bulldogs totally shut down the
Michigan City running game, holding the Wolves to just 30 net yards rushing,
while managing a balanced offense en route to a 24-7 Duneland Athletic
Conference win to end the season with a 6-3 overall record.
DOG NOTES: The Bulldogs will travel to Munster (5-4) for the first round of the Class 5A, Sectional 1 playoffs Friday, Oct. 21, 2011. Kick-off is at 7:00 p.m. Live play-by-play Internet radio coverage will be provided by the team at www.USA-365.com.
Munster also won their regular season finale, 21-0 at Kankakee Valley. The Mustangs running back Nick Brajak scored two second quarter touchdowns on runs of 6 and 48 yards en route to finishing the night with 89 yards on five carries. The top rushers on the night at KV was Munster's Christian Leonakis (11 carries, 98 yards), while Chimez Okolocha had 10 carries for 65 yards. QB Mark Strbjak only three four passes, but Oliver Sutter caught three of them for 39 yards for Munster against the 2-7 KV Kougars.
Should the Bulldogs defeat the Mustangs Friday, they would face the winner of Portage at Valparaiso on Oct. 28. The other side of the Class 5A, Sectional bracket has Chesterton at Michigan City and Lake Central at Merrillville on Oct. 21.
