CROWN POINT (4-24-2018) It took big production of a 5-run third inning for the Crown Point Bulldogs to get past the Portage Indians in their second Duneland Athletic Conference match-up of the season.

Sending nine to the plate, the Bulldogs broke through on their way to an 8-2 victory. The win comes after the two teams played at Portage High School on March 28, won by the Bulldogs 11-7.
In the third frame, Crown Point got key hits from juniors Gracie Frazier and Maggie Ballentine. Both drove in two runs each as Frazier doubled while Ballentine singled.

Junior Caitlyn Phillips also drove in two, with singles in the first and fifth innings.

The Indians had their opportunities, but left 10 runners on base, including runners at second and third to end the top of the fourth inning.

Our next Internet radio softball broadcast on USA-365.com will be Tuesday, May 1 when the Bulldogs visit the Lake Central Indians (11-2). The pregame show is at 4:15 p.m. CDT and first pitch scheduled for 4:30 p.m. CDT.
