VALPARAISO (02-05-2016) After a reasonably close first half that saw Crown Point leading the Hobart Lady Brickies only 22-16 at the half, the lady Bulldogs found their shooting touch, launching five three-point baskets en route to a 26-9 third quarter and eventual 58-35 victory.

Hannah Albrecht led all scorers with 18 points, followed by Sidney Taylor with 11 for the Lady Bulldogs. Albrecht had three three-point baskets, as did fellow senior Megan Morgan who finished with 9 points.

In the second semi-final game, the Merrillville Pirates defeated the Portage Indians 56-41. That means Crown Point will face their arch-rivals from Merrillville in the Section al 2 championship game Saturday night at 6 p.m. in Valparaiso.

Dog Notes: The Lady Bulldogs led by as many as 28 points late in the game, as Crown Point emptied the bench in the fourth quarter to relieve the starters for the second times in as many games, following Tuesday night's 71-50 blow-out of the host Lady Viking.
