Lowell cheerleaders were happy to be indoors after five playoff game sin the cold and the rain in Northwest Indiana.  (All photos by Mark Smith) Reitz defensive end Brandon Kemp (47) chases Lowell's Cole Midgett (13) during action in the 4A state title game last Saturday. 
Lowell coach Jim Kiechle gets the offensive line ready on the floor of the Lucas Oil Stadium before Saturday's state championship game. Even babies were disappointed as Lowell fell behind Reitz in the state championship game last Saturday.
Brandon Grubbe (6) runs off left guard in the state title game.  Grubbe gained 160 yards on 30 carries. Joe Bell (34) tries to get close to Reitz QB Matt McIntosh (9) in the state finals.  McIntosh threw for two TDs.
Lowell QB Ray Skamay (14) takes off on an option play.  Skamay gained 60 yards on 10 carries. Brandon Grubbe (6) was one who spoke for the team after Lowell's 23-9 loss to Reitz.  The Devils ended the season with a 13-2 record.
Lowell cheerleaders took to the sidelines 30 minutes before the start of the state championship game. The two large TV screen at the Lucas Oil Stadium cost $1 million dollars each, and at least one of them is visible from anywhere in the stands.
Coach Kirk Kennedy had to spend a lot of time talking to the media after the game, which was won by undefeated Reitz 23-9. It was a long ride home Saturday night from Lucas Oil Stadium in downtown Indianapolis, even on the familiar I-65 expressway back to NW Indiana.
