Here's what second year coach Doug Nelson had to say about the members of his 2007-2008 edition of the Hanover Central Lady Wildcats prior to their first game of the new season:
SENIORS
Megan Parks, 5-foot-7 Forward
Has worked extremely hard to improve over the off season and will compete for
time at the post position. Megan has worked to improve her outside shot and her
strength in the paint.
Tori Dahlin, 5-foot-8 Forward
Also has worked incredibly hard to improve during her time off. She will
compete for time in the post position also. She has also worked to improve her
outside shot and overall strength.
Chrissy Homolka, 5-foot-8 Guard
Chrissy is a fantastic leader and has improved greatly. She is a great example
of how someone can improve by being in the gym and weight room during the off
season. Chrissy is our best defender on the perimeter and that comes with her
attitude of working hard every day. In order for Hanover Central to have a
successful season, she will need to have great confidence in her game and
continue to be a positive leader for our program. Chrissy is a co-captain of
our program this season.
Anna Plassmann, 5-foot-8
Forward
Anna is a good athlete and will compete for time in the post position. She is
very strong and fast for a post player. She will need to use those attributes
in order for Hanover Central to be successful.
Shannon Kiraly, 5-foot-8 Forward
Shannon is returning to the basketball program at Hanover Central. She worked
hard in the summer to get back into the game and will be very productive in the
post for us this season. She has a knack for finishing in the paint and
rebounds well.
JUNIORS
Lindsay Martinez, 5-foot-5 Guard
Lindsay is a fighter and works hard every day to improve. Lindsay will be
difficult to keep out of the line up with her work ethic and willingness to do
anything to help the program be successful.
Danielle Graham, 5-foot-5 Guard
Danielle is a great threat as a guard. She can either penetrate or shoot from
the perimeter. Danielle has worked hard over the off season and is a vital
part in our plans for success this season.
Jordan Kramer, 5-foot-6 Guard
Jordan is a returning guard and was an all Porter-County Conference performer
last season. We have worked on her being a leader and playing with consistency
and poise. Jordan will also be a co-captain for this season.
Coach Doug Nelson (2nd year) 8-12 in 2007
"There may be some Junior-Varsity players dressing for our Varsity games. That
will depend on what is needed for that particular game. I have great confidence
in our underclassmen to step up when they are called upon.
I like the direction that our program is going. We are strong at all classes
and I am pleased with the development of the student-athletes that have put in
time in the off-season. We will take the season one game at a time. Our
fundamentals and decision-making have improved over the off-season and we
continue to work on those aspects of the game every day. We have really worked
hard to get better. We played approximately 20 games over the summer and had
open gyms to go along with the games. Our attendance was good and we hope the
hard work will pay off with victories during the 07-08 season."
