State swingman David Moss was named the Prairie Farms/Missouri Valley Conference
Scholar-Athlete of the Week after leading the Sycamores to wins over Indiana and
Ball State last week.
Moss posted 19 points, nine rebounds and six rebounds to lead ISU to a 72-67 over No. 16 Indiana. He followed that effort with a team-high 13 points in a 57-56 victory over Ball State on Dec. 10. Overall, the senior guard averaged 16.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game in the two victories that propelled ISU to its first 5-0 start in 20 years.
Moss, who has a 3.16 cumulative grade-point average in sports studies, ranks in the top 10 of six statistical categories among MVC schools, including points, assists, steals and blocks.
The Sycamores will put their perfect record on the line this Saturday (Dec. 17) as they travel to Hinkle Fieldhouse to take on Butler at 1:05 p.m., CST.
