Prior to the Regional Championship game

By late in the game, it was hard to
identify players like Andrew Krumwied #65, Kurt Wermers #70, Matt
Childress #71 and others by their jersey numbers on the rain-soaked and
muddy field. |
The Slicers' running back Airrence
Shark #34 scored the first touchdown of the game on a 20-yard run as
LaPorte built up a 14-0 lead late in the second quarter, en route to a
28-21 overtime win. |
Crown Point tried to get back in the

Following a one hour and 20-minute
lightning and rain delay, Crown Point fans and cheerleaders were
enthused by the Bulldogs 21 unanswered points in the second, third and

On the final play of the game, Crown
Point quarterback Mascarello was sacked on 4th and 10 in overtime. While
Mascarello sat in the mud stunned, LaPorte players celebrated their
