WEEK FIFTEEN (15) ANALYSIS:

INDIANAPOLIS - Seeger just seemed destined all year to win the title. This was a once-in-a-generation team that breaks up after this season. Ritter will be back in contention for the title next year.

Two-time 2A titlist Tri-West has to be stopped before they get to the Dome because their spread offense is too much for 2A teams in perfect conditions. The Tri-West QB, is a sophomore. They'll be back.

The question in 3A is an era ending or was this just a temporary interruption. Timely injuries KO'd Bishop Chatard's push for a 4th consecutive crown, allowing long suffering Andrean (4 title game sin 8 years) and Heritage Hills (5 consecutive regional titles) a shot. But Andrean graduates too many key players to get back in 2005 and Chatard sends two Division I players (TB Dray Mason and DE Frank Halliburton) to college.

Will it be Heritage Hills, New Prairie or maybe Griffith?

In 4A, state finalist Wawasee loses their skill players. East Noble returns 2000-yard runner Konrad Mundon but they need some new linemen. Could it be Hobart? Lowell?

Somebody's got to do something about Roncalli. Three state titles in a row. Who wants to stop history? Nobody's ever won 4 in a row.

In 5A, Warren Central gets so many good players but eventually Ben Davis is going to get them at the regional level.

That could leave things open for a northern team but if it's Merrillville, they still have to walk through Portage, Penn and Snider.

I don't know what this means but..... Of the five top-ranked teams (Seeger, Tri-West, Heritage Hills, East Noble and Warren Central) only East Noble did not reach the finals. Of the five defending champions (Ritter, Tri-West. Bishop Chatard, Roncalli and Warren Central), only Chatard did not reach the finals in 2004.

Saturday's attendance was 26,148 (an average of over 8,500 per game) for a three-game card that featured four distant schools (Andrean, Heritage Hills, Wawasee and Snider) on a day that featured day-long rain in Indianapolis.
