KS (2-5-2005) – Even
though they had four players finish the game with double-digits in points, the
Indiana State men's basketball team lost their second consecutive game, this
time on the road to Wichita State, 67-57, Saturday (Feb. 5) night at Charles
Koch Arena. The Sycamores fall to 8-15 (3-9 MVC), while the league-leading
Shockers improve to 17-3 (10-2 MVC) on the season.
Eric Gray and Gabriel Moore led the way for the Sycamores, each scoring 13 points. David Moss pitched in 11 points and six rebounds. Amani Daanish was the fourth Sycamore with double-digits points with 10 in the losing effort for ISU.
Paul Miller led the balanced scoring attack for the Shocker. Miller finished the game with 12 points and eight rebounds. Jamar Howard added 11 points and a game-high four assists. Wichita State had three others score nine points apiece.
The Sycamores were once again plagued by poor shooting. ISU only connected on 19-of-52 (.365) shots for the game. Wichita State ended the game shooting 45.1 percent (23-of-51). The Shockers dominated the boards, collecting 43 rebounds to just 25 for the Trees.
The Sycamores will close-out their three-game road trip on Wednesday (Feb. 9) when they travel to Carbondale, Ill. to take on Southern Illinois. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. (CST).
