(12-18-2004) – The Indiana State
men's basketball team had a four-game winning streak snapped Saturday afternoon
(Dec. 18) with a 65-59 defeat to the Ball State Cardinals in front of 5,144 at
Worthen Arena. The loss drops the Sycamores to 5-3, while Ball State improves to
5-2.
The Sycamores were led by Amani Daanish and Eric Gray, who each tallied 14 points. Gray shot 4-of-11 from the floor, while Daanish finished 6-of-11 from the field and pulled down a team-high nine rebounds. Tyson Schnitker pitched in 12 points for ISU, while David Moss was limited to just seven points. The Sycamores finished the game shooting 21-of-51 (.412) from the floor.
Dennis Trammell led the Cardinals in scoring with 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting. Peyton Stovall and Terrance Chapman added 16 points each. Chapman also gathered 11 rebounds to record his second double-double of the season. BSU shot 43.6 percent (24-of-55) from the field enjoyed a 40-27 rebounding advantage over the Sycamores.
ISU returns to the court on Tuesday, December 21 when they face USC in the Outrigger Hotels Rainbow Classic in Honolulu, Hawai'i. Tip-off is scheduled for 12:30 am EST (Wednesday morning).
