Sycamores fall to Buffalo Bulls on road, 92-64

BUFFALO, NY (11-27-2004)The Indiana State men’s basketball team dropped a 92-64 decision against the University at Buffalo Bulls on Saturday (Nov. 27). The Sycamores were limited to just 35 percent from the floor, while the Bulls knocked down 57 percent of their field goals.

After an Eric Gray three-pointer cut the Bulls lead to 21-11 with 12:50 to play in the first half, the Sycamores suffered an offensive drought, as they were not able to make a field goal for over twelve minutes. Darron Evans’ layup with 35 seconds remaining in the first half broke the drought, but the Bulls carried a 50-25 lead into halftime.

Buffalo’s Yassin Idbihi led all scorers with 22 points. Daniel Gilbert added 15 points, while Turner Battle added 14 for the Bulls. David Moss recorded a double-double, as he finished with 16 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. Gray added 16 points, including 12 in the second half.

Freshman Gabriel Moore turned in a solid outing for the Trees. Moore came off the bench and scored six points, dished out four assists, and hauled in three rebounds in 15 minutes of action. Logan Whitman added six points off the bench for ISU. The 92 points given up by ISU is the most the Sycamores have allowed under head coach Royce Waltman.
