ISU Sycamores top Bradley Braves, 73-63

TERRE HAUTE, IN (1-29-2005) In a game that saw four Sycamores finish with double-digits in points, David Moss and Gabriel Moore each netted 16 points as the Indiana State men's basketball team defeated Bradley 73-63 Saturday (Jan. 29) in front of 4,344 at the Hulman Center. The victory snaps a Bradley (11-7, 4-6 MVC) six-game win streak over the Sycamores (8-13, 3-7 MVC).

ISU came out strong from the beginning of the game, hitting their first six shots. The Sycamores shot a blistering 53.8 percent in the first half to go to the locker room up by 15 points (38-23). ISU cooled in the second half, allowing Bradley to cut into the lead. The Braves however could never get any closer than eight points as ISU was able to hold on for the 10-point victory.

Moss finished the game on 3-of-8 shooting from the floor. The Chicago, Ill. native grabbed a game-high eight rebounds and was 10-of-12 from the free throw line. Moore tied his career high by shooting 5-of-10 from the field and 5-of-8 from the charity stripe. Amani Daanish added 14 points, while Jerod Adler pitched in 13.

Tony Bennet led the way for the visiting Braves with 20 points. Bennet shot 8-of-17 overall, and 4-of-6 from three-point land. Marcellus Sommerville added 15 points and five rebounds. Daniel Ruffin dropped in nine points off the bench for Bradley.

ISU scored 25 points off of 13 Bradley turnovers. Conversely, the Sycamores turned the ball over 14 times, which the Braves turned into 13 points. Bradley held an advantage in points in the paint 36-28, and the Braves' bench outscored the Sycamores' 21-7.

The Sycamores will now take to the road for three straight games. ISU travels to face SMS in Thursday (Feb. 3) before visiting Wichita State next Saturday (Feb. 5).
