HAUTE, IN (1-31-2006) – Indiana
State will travel to face Western Michigan later this season in a game that was
set up as a result of participation in the original Bracket Buster pool.
The Sycamores were designated as a road team, while the Broncos were chosen as a
host school. The game will be played on Saturday, February 18 at
University Arena. Tip-off is set for 1:00 p.m., CST. As part of the
agreement, WMU will visit Terre Haute to take on the Sycamores at Hulman Center
during the 2006-07 campaign.
Western Michigan carries an 8-11 overall record. The Broncos are 5-4 in Mid-American Conference play this season. WMU dropped a 69-63 decision at home to Northern Iowa in November, and suffered a 64-47 loss at Illinois State earlier this season. ISU holds an 11-4 advantage in the all-time series. The last meeting between the two schools was a 79-77 Indiana State victory at Hulman Center on November 16, 1998.
This marks the second time the Sycamores have participated in the Bracket Buster pool, having faced the University at Buffalo during the 2003-04 season. Indiana State dropped a 64-51 decision to the Bulls at Hulman Center.
The Sycamores return to action on Wednesday (Feb. 1) when they travel to face the Southern Illinois Salukis (16-5, 9-2). Tip-off is set for 7:07 p.m., CST at SIU Arena.
