CEDAR LAKE (12-23-2015) In the eight years that Hanover Central High School has hosted the 'Wildcat Winter Classic' girls basketball tournament, the host Lady Wildcats have never won their own holiday tournament. In the first year that neighboring Crown Point has joined the tournament, the Lady Bulldogs will now face the Lady Wildcats for the championship game of the eight-team tournament tonight (Dec. 23) at 7:30 p.m. CST.

Hanover advanced to the finals with a 62-31 first round win over Washington Township and a semifinal win last night (Dec. 22) over the Knox Lady Redskins 54-21.

Crown Point similarly advanced to the finals with a first round win 72-24 over Griffith and a semifinal win over Hobart 33-17, the latter a definitely slower-paced game than the earlier games.

Internet Radio USA-365.com will continue its live broadcast coverage of the Wildcat Winter Classic with the third-place game tonight (Dec. 23) beginning at 5:45 p.m. for the pregame show. Know will play Hobart in a 6 p.m. game, followed by Crown Point and Hanover Central playing for the Wildcat Winter Classic championship at 7:30 p.m. CST.
