Andrean varsity coach Ken
Markfull
was asked to provide a preview and profile of this year's Lady 59ers
basketball team. Here's what he had to say, courtesy of the Lake County
Star newspaper.
Lisa Moody - 5-8 Senior - forward
Lisa
has taken her game to a new level this year. She can score inside or outside and
has worked hard to improve defensively.
Kelly
Swisher - 5-5 Senior - guard
Kelly
was an effective player off the bench last year. She is a very good shooter.
Quiet but effective. Kelly is a floor leader who has an excellent knowledge of
the game.
Brooke
Bosak - 6-0 Junior -
center
Brooke
has worked hard to improve her overall game and she is a solid post
player. Brooke gives us a dimension we haven't had in a few years and she has a
nice touch around the basket.
Katie
Giannini - 5-7 Junior -
guard
Katie
is an outstanding defensive player. She runs the floor very well and always
plays with great intensity. Katie is a leader on and off the floor.
Amy Goetz
- 5-9 junior - guard
Amy
is our only returning starter. She is playing stronger and with more confidence
than she was last year. Amy is a very good rebounder. She understands the game
and what we're trying to accomplish.
Kim
McCloskey - 6-0 junior - guard
Kim
is very versatile and she can play just about any position. She can be an
explosive scorer with the ability to play inside, outside or anyplace in
between. Kim is still adapting to our style of play.
Krissy Ray
- 5-8 junior - forward
Krissy
plays with great intensity and always works hard. Her physical style of play is
a great asset to the team. She is a strong rebounder.
Valerie
Young - 5-4 sophomore - guard
Valerie's
quickness and speed are her best assets. She's a good defender on the ball and
is gradually improving as a shooter.
Suzanne
Cunningham - 5-10 freshman - forward
Suzanne
makes good decisions and passes well in transition. She's a quick learner and
getting better every day. Suzanne has the physical ability to be an outstanding
player.
Rachel
McGinty - 5-10 freshman - forward
Rachel
brings a high energy level to the court and she works hard every day. She
is improving every day and gradually extending her game away from the basket.
