Sycamores Lose to Murray State, 85-39

MURRAY, KY (12-19-2002)  Sparked by 53 percent shooting from the field, Murray State defeated Indiana State on Thursday night, 85-39, at the Regional Special Events Center.

Indiana State freshman David Moss led the Sycamores with 13 points. Rick Jones led the Racers and all scorers with 18 points, Antione Whelchel and Chris Shumate added 13 and Kevin Paschel and Antonio Henderson chipped in 11 and 10, respectively.

Murray State shot a blistering 61.3 percent from the field in the opening half to take a 48-18 lead into the halftime break. Meanwhile, the Sycamores were held to 23.3% in the first 20 minutes and were good on 25.5% for the game while Murray State connected on 45 percent from the three-point line and outrebounded ISU 40-38 en route to the victory.
