Sycamores win first game at University Hoops Classic, 68-55 over SE Missouri State

NEW ORLEANS, LA (11-29-2002) - David Moss had a career-high 26 points to lead Indiana State to a 68-55 win over Southeast Missouri in the second round of the University Hoops Classic Friday night. Moss was an impressive 10-11 from the field, including hitting his first collegiate three-point field goal en route to ISU’s second victory of the season.

Moss led four players in double figures. Brian Giesen had 11 points and Marcus Howard and Jerod Adler each added 10 for Indiana State (2-1). Giesen also led with eight rebounds.

Indiana State shot 48.1% from the field, including two three-point field goals for Matt Broermann, who finished the contest with eight points, three assists and two rebounds.

The Sycamores led the contest 35-29 at the half, and continued their dominance in the second half, scoring 33 more to take the 13-point victory.

Indiana State will face the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Saturday at 3:00 p.m., CST in New Orleans.
