TERRE
HAUTE, IN (11-15-2004) - Indiana
State University Director of Athletics Andrea Myers announced today (Nov. 15)
the school will not renew the contract of head football coach Tim McGuire for
next season. McGuire, who completed his seventh season as head coach of the
Sycamores, compiled a 24-55 record, including a 4-7 mark during the 2004
campaign.
“This is one of the unfortunate realities of intercollegiate athletics,” said Myers. “All of our head coaches have specific performance expectations, and those are addressed as part of their annual evaluations. Regrettably, those expectations have not been met.”
“Tim has been a part of ISU for twelve years, and has worked hard on behalf of Indiana State, we wish him well in his future endeavors.”
A national
search for McGuire’s replacement will begin immediately. All inquiries about
the head football coaching position should be directed to Andrea Myers at
812-237-4089.
