Gateway Conference road swing when it travels to Macomb, IL, to face 10th-ranked
Western Illinois,

The Records - Indiana State enters the contest at 3-4/1-1 GFC, following last Saturday's 23-20 overtime win against SMS. The Sycamores, who are a perfect 3-0 at home this season, have two losses have come against Div. I-A competition (17-48 at W. Michigan, 21-23 at Ball State), as well as a 19-26 loss at #13 Eastern Illinois. The Sycamores' victories have come against Cumberland (14-10), Murray State (34-31 2ot) and SMS (23-20 ot). Western Illinois brings records of 5-1/2-1 GFC into Saturday's contest after defeating Illinois State 22-17 this past weekend.
The Coaches - Indiana State head coach Tim McGuire (Nebraska '75) is in his fifth season at the helm of the Sycamores football program. McGuire's record as head coach at Indiana State stands at 15 victories and 36 defeats, while his six-year career mark stands at 22-51, including two seasons as the head coach at Morningside College (1981-82). This season is McGuire's 10th as a member of the Sycamores' coaching staff. Western Illinois head coach Don Patterson (Army '73)) is 26-13 in his fourth season as a head coach, all spent at WIU.
The Series - Indiana State trails the series, 12-13-0. Indiana State's last win in the series came in 1999, winning at home, 39-36, in overtime. The Sycamores stand 3-9-0 in games played in Macomb, IL.
