ISU's Ladrelle Bryant named Gateway Conference special team player of week 

TERRE HAUTE, IN (9-19-2004) - For the second time in as many weeks the Gateway Football Conference honored a Sycamore gridder as its Special Teams Player of the Week. Junior LaDrelle Bryant (Muncie, Ind./Garden City C.C.) took the honors after sophomore placekicker Kyle Hooper was mentioned last week.

Bryant earned the distinction after blocking a Murray State punt in the waning minutes of the third quarter with the score tied at 21. His block was recovered by Markus Naves in the end zone to put ISU up for good, 28-21.

He had a solid outing at linebacker, in which he compiled four solo tackles and five assists along with a tackle and a half for loss.

The Sycamores (2-1) continue their three-game homestand against Tennessee-Martin on Saturday.
