WEEK Twelve (12) ANALYSIS:   Northwood's QB Michael Ramirez was hurt early inn the second quarter and they never recovered. Jeff made a last-minute rally top beat Carmel even though Jeff ignored the running game and had minus rush yardage. Harding and Concordia could've gone either way. Clay just pounded Plymouth. I cannot explain Eastern Hancock over Shenandoah and I had a feeling last week's game meant more to LaVille than it did to Whiting but I didn't have the nerve to pick against the Oilers.

Twin Lakes was very lucky to beat Frankfort  but none of the other 12 correct picks are in any way a surprise.

Week 13 Picks

Class 1A

1A - Perry Central (11-1) 35,  Park Tudor (9-3) 21

Perry Central was 14-1 last year and they seemed destined to go to the title game.

1A - Clinton Central (9-3) 24, South Putnam (10-2) 21

Clinton Central has a very strong offensive line and their schedule appears tougher.

1A - Southwood (10-1) 27, LaVille (9-3) 7

LaVille won the game they wanted last week. They'll go quietly now.

1A - Pioneer (12-0) 30, at Eastern Hancock (8-4) 14

Same thing here. Hancock waited a year for a rematch with Shenandoah and they won. That's all they really wanted.

2A - Indian Creek (12-0) 41, Southridge (10-2) 21

The state's top passing team will roll unless the weather is very bad.

2A - Seeger (12-0) 22, Scecina (8-3) 20

A shaky pick because this is Seeger's 1st-ever regional game and Scecina is a traditional power.

2A - North Judson (12-0) 24, Eastbrook (11-1) 0

Judson appears far to strong physically and both teams play lame schedules.

2A - Bishop Luers (9-3) 35, Central Noble (10-2) 7

Luers schedule is much tougher and C. Noble got what they wanted last week when they upset Jimtown.

3A - South Bend St. Joseph's (9-3) 27, (FW) Concordia (8-4) 22

Fort Wayne football is tougher  but St. Joe is rolling. Who cares?  Heritage Hills, Chatard or Andrean would all kill either team.

3A - ANDREAN (12-0) 29, Twin Lakes (10-2) 10

Both teams play weak schedules but the 59ers have a far better QB.

3A - Heritage Hills (12-0) 28, Batesville (9-2) 20

Interesting. Batesville lost the regional to Heritage Hills 23-11 last year and this week's rematch is in Batesville. There could be an upset here.

3A - Bishop Chatard (12-0) 33, Hamilton Heights (11-1) 7

Chatard has already defeated two unbeaten, top-10 teams and
Hamilton Heights' schedule is weak.

4A - Zionsville (10-2) 24, Jasper (10-2) 28

Another rematch from last year's regional. Zionsville lost 18-17 to Jasper
last season in 3 overtimes. I like Zionsville to get even.

4A - Roncalli (7-4) 30, East Central (7-5) 6

Both teams play tough schedules but Roncalli's big offensive line should dominate, even on the road.

4A - Bishop Dwenger (11-1) 35, Muncie Central (12-0) 17

Dwenger plays a very difficult schedule and Fort Wayne football is
tougher than Muncie football.  Central barely got by (FW) South 28-24 last week.

4A - Griffith (9-3) 26, South Bend Clay (10-2) 24

Could be a classic game. Both teams have power and speed runners.
Turnovers will decide it for the visitors.

5A - Center Grove  (11-1) 20, New Albany (11-1) 16

New Albany has more talent but Center Grove has played a brutal schedule
and is at home

5A - Ben Davis  (10-3) 31, Warren Central (12-0) 28

The biggest game in the state as the six time state champions take on a Warren Central team that has outscored 12 foes 588-128.  10 weeks ago, Warren Central beat Ben Davis 17-14 in overtime but Ben Davis beat Warren Central twice last year.  Warren Central is the computer rankings number one team but Bed Davis has played a tougher schedule. Both teams are very big up front but Ben Davis has traditionally won these games.

5A - (Fort Wayne) Snider (11-0) 38, (Lafayette) Jefferson (8-3) 28

Jeff's Jeff Vlahogeorge is northern Indiana's top passer but passing teams do not reach the state finals. The weather and Snider's speedy backs will stop Jeff's air show.

5A - Penn (12-0) 28, Valparaiso (11-1) 17

Penn won 31-7 over Valpo 1 weeks ago and you still can't run the ball on the Kingsmen.  Valpo will have their moments but Valparaiso is not supposed to beat Penn.
