CROWN
POINT (04-27-2016) It only took four and a half innings, but the Crown Point
Bulldogs coasted to their seventh win of the season. They managed to score
multiple runs between the second and fourth innings to prevail 13-0 over the Michigan
City in front of a small, but hardy crowd of about 50 "friends of the programs."
The win also marked for the Bulldogs back-to-back wins over Michigan City in two
days.
24 hours earlier, they shutout the Wolves 4-0.
Combined in the two games, the Bulldogs outscored the Wolves 17-0.
Crown Point was able to solidify the mercy rule with six runs in the bottom of
the fourth inning, during
which they sent 11 men to the plate.
Seniors Mike Wathier and Joey O’Keefe and junior Charlie Patrick, each had two
RBIs for the Bulldogs, as senor starting pitcher Mark Mazure, went five innings,
only giving-up three hits in the shutout victory.
Crown Point improves to 7-5 on he season, 6-2 in the Duneland Athletic
Conference, while Michigan City falls to 4-9 overall, 1-7 in the DAC.
