CROWN
POINT (04-22-2015)
It only took five innings, but the Crown Point Bulldogs' 15-2 victory over the
Michigan City Wolves gave them back-to-back wins in two consecutive days. Both
of their latest wins came against DAC opponents (Crown Point defeated Portage 8-7 on April 21). Getting
the job done with good pitching and timely hitting, the Bulldogs rode the
complete game win of Alex Ruiz, who struck out 13 Wolves in five innings
pitched. He fanned the first seven batters he faced with K’s, including four in
the first inning, as Chase Clarkson struck out, but reached first base on a wild
pitch.
The Bulldogs sent 16 batters to the plate, scoring 10 runs. The bottom three in the order (Thayne Bukowski, Joey O-Keefe, Ruiz) combined to go six for nine at the plate with six RBIs.
